I, the webmaster, Serdar Ataksor - am the
grandson of Major Halis Ataksor and the son of Yilmaz Ataksor. I have
dedicated this website in there honor and also the Retired Major General
Mahmut Boguslu of the Turkish Military. I felt the need to create this
website because I feel that this material needs to be shared with
everyone else, due to its high level of importance and interests.
History is everything. Major Halis Ataksor was a ranking officer in the
Turkish Army during the time of the First World War's Battle of
Gallipoli. This website is one of many websites that reminisce the
fallen heroes of the Battle of Gallipoli. This website however, is more
focused on the heroism of Major Halis Ataksor.
It is my sincere hope and intent to
educate and to enlighten - the uneducated and the unenlightened.
Furthermore, it is also the hope of the webmaster that you make use of
this website for useful information regarding Halis Ataksor. May I also
suggest that you make sure you validate everything you read about the
Battle of Gallipoli and refrain from superstitious nonsense. There are a
lot of charlatans - therefore beware! I wish to probe the international
community by sharing the plethora of information regarding Halis. In
time, when these documents are translated into English they will be open
to the entire international community for there thorough review.

FOLLOWING GENTLEMEN:Sn. Ibrahim Kurtuluş'a

QUESTIONS :: |

1- Has any works of Halis been translated up to this date?
Yes, many works of Halis have
been translated. However, Halis kept all of his logs
and paperwork in Ottoman (old Turkish language). Here is one example. The modern
Turkish language that is spoken today was not spoken then. The writings were
even
not the same. There are very few individuals that are capable of translating
Ottoman, into modern day Turkish. There are only a few translations of Halis'
work -
one being of course, the 'Gallipoli Report' and the other 'The Koummoukhs of
Amidian History'. The procedure to translate many other works of Halis is
incredibly complex, because first the works need to be translated into Turkish
and
then into English. It is highly unlikely to find people that understand Ottoman,
in
which simultaneously the translator's main language is English. The procedure is
incredibly long and complex, but the end result is promising. |

2- What is your political philosophy in Turkey?
This website is not an
expression of political philosophy. However, the webmaster is
a firm believer of historical content and truth. If I were to recommend
something,
then I think all peoples of the world ought to study their history first, before
reaching a conclusion in politics. |

8- It is understood that Turks
landed in the Anatolian region in the year 1071AD in the
Battle of Malazgirt. You rebut this common knowledge?
Yes completely! According to my
grandfather's writings and based on his research, long
before 1071 AD Turkish nomads were already settled in the South-Eastern
Anatolian
region. His conclusions can be found in his bool entitled'Koummoukh in Amidian History'.
(Diyarbakir Tarihinde Komuk Eli)Please note that this book has
NOT BEEN translated! |

9- What can you tell me about the automobile highway
system in Turkey and how is it
relevent to Halis?
Usak, the Turkish state in
which Halis was located in his last days, spent time
building sewer systems, parks, roads, buildings and other likely things. Shortly
after
his death, Usak was and still is known to have built the first asphalted road
system,
in which Halis' time and energy were also labored. |
